The surrounding area
Hever Castle is probably our most popular local attraction. Built in 13th century it has huge historical significance being the former home of Anne Boleyn (second wife of Henry VIII) and the Astor family who owned it for 80 years from 1903. It is a wonderful day out for both adults and children alike, there is something for everyone. The castle itself, Italian ornamental gardens, rowing lake, the ancient yew maze as well as the water maze, have a go archery and jousting in the summer months.
Nature and walks
Wakehurst botanical gardens is a fifteen minute drive from Long Acres. Wakehurst is owned by the National Trust but used and managed by the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew. It has an impressive variety of trees set over 500 acres. You'll find an Elizabethan mansion surrounded by formal, walled gardens, which lead on to water gardens, meadow land and an aboratorium.
Food and drink
Joyces with Best Wishes
Joyces with Best Wishes is also in Lingfield Village and serve tea, coffee, cake and small meals. Joyce and her husband have been a part of Lingfield for nearly as long as Long Acres, we highly recommend a cup of tea and two of the homemade chocolate truffles.
Food and drink
The Real Pizza Company
We recommend The Real Pizza Company for pizza deliveries direct to Long Acres Camping. We have menus in reception or you can visit the website. Please give our name and postcode (RH7 6LE).
For group orders we recommend speaking to the manager a week or so before your event.
